Giltner Inc. was established in 1982 as small local trucking company owned by the Giltner family of Jerome, Idaho. In 1990 the company was purchased by Douglas and Cheri Blevins. At that time the company had about 12 trucks and a somewhat cloudy future.
By the late 90s the company had grown to 150 tractors and had started to make a little money. In 2000 the company went through a Merger with a Smaller Dry Van carrier and grew to over 250 tractors. The merger did not go as planned and in 2003 Douglas Blevins again became sole owner of the company. As a result of the Merger the legal name of the company was changed to Progressive Logistics, Inc., but we are primarily known by our dba which is still Giltner, Inc.
2003 was a special year for our company. It was at this point that we gave up on trying to be a large carrier, and put all of our focus on quality and reliability. Shortly after this we were fortunate get our first opportunity to haul produce for a couple of great customers.
Since then hauling extremely time and temperature sensitive produce has become the cornerstone of our business. This attention to detail extends beyond produce to anything that Giltner moves. We consistently provide service levels that exceed 98% on time.
We currently operate 160 tractors and 190 53ft refrigerated trailers. All of our equipment is state of the art and under 3 years old. Both our tractors and trailers are equipped with Qualcomm satellite tracking technology.
Our entire operations, safety, maintenance, accounting and management team consists of transportation professionals with many years of experience. We have people on site 24 hours a day 7 days a week to deal with any issues that arise. We are financially stable and confident that we will be able to take care of our customers needs in good or bad economic times.
Our primary service areas are California, Arizona, the Northwest, Texas and the Midwest. We also have approximately 20 teams providing service from California to the east cost.
